About this deal

This fourth novel from Kimberly Chambers introduces readers to the criminal world of two mob families; the Mitchells and the O’Haras. These two families compete against each other for turf and businesses. Caught between the greed and pride of two dangerous families are two children whose lives will never be the same. The Traitor Chambers

Yes they are evil little brats and I’m used to KC psychopathic characters but at the same time some of their exploits made even me feel a bit uncomfortable and apprehensive. Anyways, Debbie was one of the main characters. And she was like "Look, Mum, there's no easy way for me to say this. You're gonna go mental, so I'm just gonna give it to you straight. I'm pregnant." That's how the story begins. So I didn't wanna put the book down. When I got over the beautiful cover sleeve and then removed it, and ogled at the more gorgeous gold cover, I eventually settled down to read. Melissa, a single mum, walks into Jason’s life, and she falls in love with Jason and is willing to take him and his daughter on. She is just happy someone is interested in her, and he has fallen on his feet when he finds out who her father is. Johnny Brookes a well known local businessman with money falling all around him. Who does give Jason a warning never to break his beloved daughters heart.

I instantly grew to like Kenny, I didn’t much like the twins Bean and Bret’s mother, the twins are one’s through and through just like their grandfather Kenny. Chambers was an extremely smart and gifted student in primary and secondary school. Her best subject was English. For reasons unknown, Chambers grades began to plummet. When she was eleven, she states that “things began to deteriorate.” After a few years, her academic life became so stark that she decided to leave her secondary school.

This book has a catchy storyline, relatable characters who despite some being bad, you kinda root for, and the story overall has a great flow making it difficult to put down!! Kimberley Chambers: My friends were married to villains". Metro. 24 November 2009 . Retrieved 18 June 2018. This book got me through the worst days I have ever experienced. I have a long way to go, but I was discharged today. It was then I knew that I’d finally found my vocation in life. I mad very little notes, other than some character names. After I finished each chapter, the next came easy.” With the encouragement of friends, Chambers bought a copy of the Writers and Artists Year Book and scrolled through the list of agents.

Thank you to @randomthingstours for the slot on the tour and @harpercollinsuk for the beautiful copy of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it 🥰 The epic new thriller from the No.1 bestselling Queen of Gangland crime!Kenny Bond. A murderer. A gangster. A good family man.Meet the Bonds It was then that she received a phone-call from her friend Hazel, who asked if she wanted to take a hair dressing course. It was then that Chambers decided to try her hand at writing a novel. A few days later, she began writing her premiere novel Billie Jo. When she told her family about her new aspirations, they believed that it was a fad and that she would grow tired of this new venture as well. I would probably say this was more of a gritty family saga where the Butlers and Mitchells were a gritty crime gangster series and its good to do something fresh. Then along comes a family that stand and face the Bond family head on, will Kenny do what’s required to protect his family at all costs? Kimberley Chambers is] the queen of the gritty, low-life tale . . .a fast-paced, thrill-a-minute ride that takes you on all sorts of twists and turns” - Bella Melisai atrodo, jog Džeisonas - svajonių vaikinas. Puikus humoro jausmas, gera išvaizda bei prabangus automobilis. Tai tik dailus fasadas.. Už kurio slepiasi šis tas daugiau.. Sutikusi tekėti ji net nenutuokė, jog viskas yra kitaip nei atrodo. The book takes us through the 70’s and 80’s and into the 90’s Kimberly as always sets the timeline brilliantly. Kimberly Chambers is a queen of gangland crime and needless to say, she has outdone herself with this novel. From the storyline to all the characters (and trust me there are so many), she wrote an outstanding mystery thriller based in the gangster world.

No one, and I repeat, no one, in this novel appears to be straight. The whole cast are crooked, criminals, “chancers” if you life – all committing some form of deception and involved in a type of illegal activity. And if they don’t fall into this category, then they are off performing adultery: none of the characters appear to have a loyal bone in their body. Frustratingly, the females all fall under the male spell and are forever weak and in need of “saving” – sexually or physically. All in all, it felt so dated and cliched that this was one of the main reasons that the novel lost my interest. (This book was published last year, so I can only imagine that the retroactive attitudes are supposed to reflect Melissa’s traditional upbringing?)The narrative was raw and gritty, there was some clever plotting, meticulous detail, and an all too credible cast of characters, many with a wry sense of humour, and let’s not forget some neat little twists along the way, and then perhaps you’ll see why this made for a truly terrific read!
